Japanese made in 1978 (prior to any potential legal action), this LS-80 was Tokai's mid-range Les Paul and was designed to bring an affordable Gibson style guitar to the global market. Not only did they achieve this goal, but they surpassed it in many ways as these are still considered to be as good as (if not better than) their Gibson counterparts.

With the early "Les Paul Reborn" insignia on the headstock, the LS-80 features a one piece mahogany body with a solid maple cap, '58 profile mahogany neck (that actually has a very light soft V profile), 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (12" radius, 44mm nut width) and weighs 4.7kg's. Loaded with a pair of aftermarket modern Tokai branded PAF style humbuckers and the original Tokai hardware.

Clean overall vintage condition with a few blemishes to the finish as pictured. Given a professional service and setup prior to listing including a fret polish and truss adjustment, there's plenty of life in the frets. There's some light finish checking around the headstock as pictured but no structural issues or tuning instability, purely cosmetic.
