Made in Japan in 1997, the DB-1200 was the artist model for the bassist from the band The Yellow Monkey, who was known for his extensive bass collection and love for Rickenbacker bass models. This is the higher end DB model with a set neck construction that retailed for $2000AUD new back in the late 1990's.
A unique body design with a gloss black finish and classy cream binding, it features a mahogany body with a maple top and maple neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (full 860mm scale length) and weighs 4.3kg's. Grover tuners and dual Power Storm active humbuckers, it appears all original and was restrung with flatwounds prior to listing. The neck is straight and the truss works perfectly. Only light signs of wear from general use.
