The closest thing you will get to a Japanese made Gibson is something with Orville on the headstock!
Made in Japan by the Terada factory in 1990, the Orville SG-65 was a Japanese built '60's reissue SG made under the instruction of Gibson. Orville models are critically acclaimed as they offer authorised Gibson style and specs coupled with the famous Japanese craftsmanship.
Slim mahogany body with a slim 60's mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, it weighs 3.2kg's. Loaded with Japanese humbuckers, the Kluson-style tuners and a Japanese bridge/tailpiece.
Received a full professional setup and service prior to listing including a fretboard oil, fret polish and truss adjustment. The frets have some light pitting but still play and bend smoothly and the neck is straight. The inlays were professionally replaced and the serial number sticker is missing, otherwise it looks all original.
