It's like if Tom Delonge was raised in Japan in the 1980's!

From the famous Fender Japan SQ series of guitars made by the Fujigen factory in the early to mid 1980's, this is a heavily modified example of the Squier branded ST701 model. Faded "Olympic White" finish on an alder body (with a matching headstock), a U shape maple neck with a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard (medium jumbo frets, 42.5mm nut width, 648mm scale length), it weighs 3.5kg's.

This one has had a Kahler style tremolo routed and mounted along with an aftermarket lock installed behind the nut. The pickguard has also been replaced and it's wired for a single vintage Gotoh "Super Distortion" style humbucker controlled by only a volume knob. The routing for the tremolo and the pickup is an amateur job, however it does the job and is covered by the pickguard and tremolo.

Well used condition as pictured, there's plenty of stickers on the back and tape residue/sticker tan to be seen too, this thing has been adored by someone over the years and is looking for someone to love it for what it is. There's some basic play wear to the frets, it was restrung and given a professional service prior to listing and plays great. Truss works well and the frets were polished, pot was flushed and lubed and the jack was cleaned.
