Made in the USA in the early 1980's before production moved to Japan, the American Elite Stratocaster was a short-lived design that led to the creation of the Eric Clapton signature models released a few years later. Alder body wearing a beautifully aged Satin Jade Pearl Metallic finish bolted to a 21 fret maple neck with nice big jumbo frets, it weighs 3.8kg's. Loaded with three Alnico II single coils and an internal dummy coil to kill the hum along with the original TBX treble/bass expander and MDX midrange booster, the push/push buttons were replaced at some point with mini toggles otherwise it looks to be all original.
Well loved but well cared for as pictured with some bumps and bruises but no breaks or repairs. Includes the original hard case. The neck is straight and the truss works as it should, the frets have some pitting and playwear but overall have plenty of life left and play smoothly as they sit.
