Japanese made in 1980, the SA-2000S was a higher end ES-335 sized model from Yamaha. Unlike most SA models that had beech tops, the 2000S had a solid spruce top coupled with a beech back and sides and a solid maple centre block. Set slim C profile mahogany neck and a bound 22 fret ebony fingerboard (13.75" radius, 628mm scale length), it weighs 3.8kg's. Loaded with the original Yamaha HB Spinex alnico humbuckers with a coil split push/pulls on the tone pots.
Received a full professional setup prior to listing and is overall in clean vintage condition with signs of wear but no breaks or repairs. Plays and sounds great with a reasonable amount of life in the frets and a straight neck with an adjustable truss. The finish has the notorious clouding that was common on old Yamaha models but it's purely cosmetic.
