Made in the USA in 1979, this is a great example of "affordable vintage" in the American guitar world. Classic CBS appointments with a three-bolt neck plate and bullet truss rod, it features a solid ash body, slim profile maple neck (42mm nut width) and weighs a hefty 4.7kg's. The previous owner swapped the bridge pickup out with a Dimarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues in the bridge position with a "Gilmour Switch" push/pull pot on the tone control to turn it on and off in any position. The bridge was also upgraded at some point and the hardware seems to have potentially been re-plated in gold along the line (although it could actually be original gold hardware, very hard to tell!).
Restrung and given a basic service prior to listing so it's playing nicely as it sits. The frets are shiny with some light pitting but plenty of life left and the neck is straight with a fully functional truss. The perfect players grade vintage Fender without all the relic'd nonsense!
