The 2405 "Custom Agent" is the flagship model from Ibanez's 1970's catalogs and showed the world what the company were capable of producing. Arched birch top on a mahogany body, set birch neck with an ebonized rosewood fingerboard, this one weighs 4kg's. Loaded with banjo-style ornate inlays, an F5 mandolin scroll-style headstock, faux Mother of pearl inlay behind the tailpiece and an ornate pickguard, this one appears all original except for an aftermarket bridge. The Ibanez Super 70 humbuckers sound great and the deluxe sealed "Smooth Tuner" machine heads keep it locked in tune.
This could be one of the best Custom Agent models on the market and came to us from the original owner, includes the original purchase receipt from 1978 and the original hardcase. It's been played but is overall in very clean condition with no damage to the delicate headstock design. The bridge was professionally plugged and replaced at some point many years ago but the fret edge binding is still intact and the nut is original.
