Considered by many as an upgrade to the standard Les Paul design, the Yamaha SG series are some of the fullest sounding guitars you'll ever play. This SG1000 is one of the earliest iterations and features a mahogany body with a maple cap, slim mahogany set neck and an ebony fretboard (12" radius, 628mm scale length, 43mm nut width), weighs 3.8kg's. This one was heavily modified over the years with a previous owner having it completely stripped and refinished in a natural lacquer along with the removal of the binding and beveling of the top to give it a softer look around the edges.
Loaded with replacement generic pickups, wiring and knobs along with the original bridge, tailpiece and Yamaha stamped tuners.
Good vintage condition as pictured with the modifications as mentioned previously, has a few bumps and dings from general use over 40 years. The frets are shiny and smooth and play well with a straight neck and fully functional truss.
