Boss PH-1 Phaser
The Boss PH-1 Phaser was one of the first 3 Boss compact pedals produced (along with the SP-1 and OD-1). The PH-1 is a standard 4 stage phaser that was designed to emulate the swirling tones of the popular Leslie style rotating speaker cabinets without needing a specialised speaker setup. The phase range of the PH-1 spans from 100ms all the way to 16 seconds.
The Rate knob adjusts the speed of the phase and the Depth knob controls the intensity of the effect.
Produced from November 1977 until November 1981.
Switch - Clear, Black
Screw - SIlver, Black
LED - Momentary, Solid
Collectors tend to gravitate towards pedals made in the first month of production and there are estimated to only be around 500 PH-1's made in the October/November period of 1977. This was due to the time and effort it took to match the 4 FET's used to create the phasing effect and means PH-1's with batch code 6300 and 6400 some of the hardest Boss pedals to find.
