2003 History Japan (by Fujigen) ZMS-CFS Semi-Hollowbody (ES-339 Style) Guitar
Made by the Fujigen factory (the place that made Japanese Fender models for over a decade) for distribution by the Shimamura stores in Japan only, History models were mostly high end using exotic woods and quality constructions.
The ZMS was made in 2003 and predates the Gibson ES-339. Designed to bring the warmth of an ES-335 to a more compact playing experience, it's made with a maple top with a mahogany back and centre block (weighs 3.4kg's). There's binding around the top and the back of the guitar has a sleek contour that sits comfortably in your lap along with a really soft neck join for easy access to the higher frets. 22 fret rosewood fingerboard with a medium profile mahogany neck, 44mm nut width.
The previous owner installed a pair of Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers that fit the guitars tone perfectly and the factory fitted Grover tuners give it a really high end feel. Other than the new pickups it appears all original.
