1995 Burny Japan RLC-105S Les Paul Custom "Pata" Model (Ebony)
Made by the Dyna-Gakki factory in Japan, this mid 1990's model RLC-105S from Burny was a seldom seen artist model for Pata of X-Japan. Mahogany construction with a rounded medium profile mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard, it weighs 4.5kg's. Originally these had a Sustainer system installed, however this one has had that replaced with a pair of active FGI humbuckers (which were Fernandes' version of an EMG style pickup) with on-off mini-toggles along with the traditional three-way selector.
We rebuilt this one from a shell that was sent to us without any electronics and with very low frets. We were lucky enough to have Mick Harron (of Harron Custom Guitars) refret this himself while he was up in Sydney for a Masterclass so it's now loaded with brand new Jescar jumbo frets and a new unbleached bone nut. Our in-house tech Vaughan wired up the pickups and installed a new battery box in the back before finishing the setup. Overall it's in very clean cosmetic condition as pictured and plays perfectly after being in the hands of two of the best techs we know. The tuners are the original Gotoh branded machine heads and the bridge/tailpiece are aftermarket Japanese parts.
