1982 Aria Pro II (Matsumoku) PE-R100 Single Cutaway w/Kahler (Flash Red)
The PE series was an attempt to modernise the Les Paul shape and style and the Matsumoku factory put a lot of effort into making these to the best quality possible. Made in Japan in mid 1982, the PE-R100 is the highest end iteration of the PE series model and this one is factory loaded with a Kahler tremolo system (making it an even rarer model!).
Weighs 4.3kg's and the catalog indicates that they're made with a carved maple top and mahogany back along with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard (triple triangle inlays) and a slim mahogany neck. The pickups were replaced at some point with a pair of Gotoh/Tokai PAF's and the switches are now a series/parallel and a killswitch.
Very good vintage condition as pictured with only basic signs of wear for a 40 year old guitar. Neck is straight and the shiny frets play smooth, there's a small section of binding rot but otherwise it's solid with no breaks or repairs. The backplate also has an unidentified signature on it.
